DAWN GORDON is a classically trained violinist who took up the
instrument at
the age of four and has been playing for 22 years. She also sings, and plays
the guitar, viola, and cello.
During her early years, Dawn was Concert Master of both her high school
orchestra and the local youth symphony.
Dawn grew up listening to folk and Celtic music, so it was a natural step to
join the Celtic band Tir Na' Nog. This band lasted only about five months,
but Dawn continued to "fiddle around" with Celtic music, and in 1997
she and
her sister, along with two brothers from Ireland, formed the Irish Heirs in
Spokane, WA. Dawn played with the Irish Heirs for two years.
Dawn joined Skweez The Weezle in May 1999. Her blend of classical and Celtic
fiddle styles bring an interesting dimension to the band's sound.
Dawn left the band in March 2005 to pursue
